Services

Three services that feed each other

Design creates print jobs, prototypes raise engineering questions, and consulting often grows into the next project. One studio and one point of contact carry it from concept to the first small run.

3D model design

Sketches, photos, measurements or a broken part turned into production-ready CAD.

  • Concept-to-CAD and parametric models that are easy to revise
  • Reverse engineering with calipers and 3D scanning
  • Enclosures, brackets, fixtures, jigs and replacement parts
  • Export to STEP, STL, 3MF and drawings

Rapid prototyping

Fast, affordable physical parts for fit checks, functional tests and demos.

  • FDM printing in several engineering materials
  • Support removal, sanding, priming, painting, threaded inserts and assembly
  • Small batches of 10 to 200 units
  • Rush turnaround available

Engineering consulting

Practical judgment for teams without in-house expertise.

  • Design-for-additive-manufacturing reviews: orientation, tolerances, wall thickness, strength
  • Material and process selection, including when to move to molding or machining
  • Prototype test plans and cost-to-produce estimates
  • Quality-system guidance for medical-device startups

Who we help

Teams that need a part, and a guide

If you have an idea but not the CAD skills, printers or manufacturing knowledge to finish it, this is where weeks of back and forth between freelancers, print farms and factories get cut short.

  • Inventors and startupsFirst hardware product, speed of iteration, a patient guide.
  • Small manufacturers and machine shopsFixtures, jigs and replacement parts without tooling costs.
  • Medical, automotive and aerospace suppliersA partner who understands documentation, tolerances and regulated work.
  • Engineers and product teamsOverflow capacity or a second opinion.
  • Makers, schools, labs and local businessesOne-off custom parts and demonstration models.

  1. Intake callA free 20-minute call to understand the part, the use and the deadline.
  2. Scope and quoteA written scope and quote within 48 hours.
  3. Design and first printCAD, then a physical part you can handle.
  4. Review and reviseA review session and a revision round. Then hand off to a manufacturer or run a small batch here.

Files stay under version control, and NDAs are offered by default.

About

Led by John Kish

John is the founder and lead CAD designer. He brings 37 years of manufacturing experience across medical, automotive and aerospace work, including work under ISO 13485, the quality standard for medical devices.

That background shapes how projects run here: designs are reviewed for how they will be made at scale, not only whether they print, and the advice is honest when printing is the wrong answer.

We design and prototype precision parts with the speed of 3D printing and the rigor of regulated manufacturing, so our customers can move from idea to production with confidence.

Our mission

Quality policy

Parts that meet the drawing, every time

JK Printworks LLC is committed to delivering parts and engineering services that meet the customer's drawing, specification and applicable requirements. We apply quality-management principles drawn from ISO 13485 and continually improve how we work.

JK Printworks is not ISO 13485 certified.

  • Inspect against the requirementEvery part is checked against your drawing or specification before it ships, and results are recorded.
  • Control documents and revisionsFiles, print profiles and procedures are version controlled, so the right revision gets built.
  • Keep parts traceableRecords link each part to its material, print file revision and process settings.
  • Listen and correctFeedback and problems are logged, investigated and corrected, and the fix is checked.
  • Improve continuallyQuality results are reviewed at least annually.
